CHARTERED SURVEYOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Entry level experience/qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Surveyor is essential
  • Industry recognised qualifications such as MRICS, TechRICS and APC are advantageous
  • A  Degree is Chartered Surveying or Building Services are favourable to this role

Responsibilities
  • To ensure that all projects are completed within the planned time and dealing with any issues that arise
  • Managing contractors and overseeing all works completed by them
  • Working with budgets and keeping clients up to date with any amendments that need to be made
  • Analyse and identify any building defects and propose plans and budgets for the repairs
  • Advising on current building regulation and legislation
  • Preparation of insurance assessments

Objective

A Building/Chartered Surveyor’s objective is to give a large range of advice on the development of new projects/buildings to their clients. They are responsible for many duties and it is a very challenging role where you must have impeccable organisational skills with great attention to detail. You must have the ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Must be a strong negotiator
  • Understand construction technology
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Have a sound knowledge of construction materials
  • Have knowledge of current labour conditions
  • Have knowledge of building regulations and other legalities of the construction industry
  • Able to analyse drawings and designs
  • Be able to understand drawing and CAD design packages

Salary/Bonus details
  • Basic salary £28 - £70k plus bonuses and additional benefits are offered giving you an OTE in excess of £100k
