TraineesYou want to be an Estate Agent. So you want to be a negotiator? So as not to waste your time, we’ll start by telling you ‘the wrong reasons’ for wanting to get into this industry;
Estate Agents will only employ people who want to be Estate Agents. Getting into Estate Agency is not a stepping stone to becoming a property developer, buy to let investor or mortgage broker. Being an interior designer does not qualify you to be a good Estate Agent. You are selling the property, not decorating it!ADVICE: If there is one piece of advice we can give you, it would be not to call us or any estate agencies proclaiming a long-standing interest in getting a job in the industry, without having proof you have spent some of that time looking into the job and have a decent knowledge and understanding of the role. Remember that estate agency is not an easy industry to get into and it is highly competitive. We speak to hundreds of people at trainee level on a weekly basis. We will only be able to help the candidates who show the most potential and knowledge as these are the ones displaying initiative and pro-activity that will flourish once placed. To give yourself the best possible chance of standing out when you call, make sure you are fully prepared for a telephone interview.What not to talk about in an interview:
We are here to help so it’s perfectly fine to call us and ask intelligent questions. We’re not however here to school you in the dummy’s guide to selling and letting property. Now ‘the right reasons’ for wanting to do this job;
It was once said Estate Agency is 90% people and 10% property, if you understand people you will have no problem with finding them the property of their dreams and doing very well in Estate Agency. What do you know about it? Why not click here so find out what a day in the life of a negotiator consists of.
